These are the exact strategies that your college student needs to do before attending the career fair. Strategies for students include how to make a list of the top 3-5 companies, how to refine their resume and select professional attire for the event.

We teach HOW and WHAT to actually research ahead of time that can be done quickly. Your student will learn to research essential company information, think about why that company interests them and how to contact fellow alumni that work there.

☑ Elevator Pitch

Knowing what to say and how to say it when meeting recruiters. We give them a template and show them how to give the right information about their major, interests and skills…not their whole life story.

☑ How to Differentiate from the Rest

Your student might look the same on paper as other candidates. Showing confidence in their skills and how it aligns to the company will set them apart.

☑ Follow Up Letters and more

Students can get themselves to the next level by writing an effective Thank You note. Most students skip this part and employers place a lot of importance on this. We give them a template of how to do it right.

This is for your college student. This is not for parents.

This is for college students of ALL MAJORS ranging from Business to English to Engineering and the Arts.

This is for all grades--Seniors to Freshman (yes, Freshman) who want to attend the career fair but have no idea how to prepare or what to expect. We encourage students to attend even as a Freshman or Sophomores so they can PRACTICE.

Who is Next Great Step?

Our sole focus is to help college students and grads achieve career success. Our mission is to help clients focus on a career they want to pursue and then go after it with confidence. We teach young adults how to develop a strategy to know what skills they bring to the market and who to bring it to. Our goal is for students and grads to approach the job search with confidence and articulate the value that they will bring to an employer which helps them to land the job.

My child does not know what field they want to pursue. Should they still attend the career fair?

Absolutely. The career fair is a great way to learn about different types of jobs, functions and organizations. They should view it as a networking opportunity and a way to learn about different jobs. This training will help them feel confident and prepared for the event.

How do you differ from the career services that are offered at my child’s school?

Our advising services are more customized to the unique needs of your child. Many students do not utilize career centers – either due to fear, inaction or the perceived stigma associated with seeking help. We strongly encourage your child to utilize the services offered by the career centers at their school. They have access to contacts at companies, career fair information and on campus recruiting opportunities. We are here to complement their services.

Do you guarantee employment?
